In a historic development, India is poised to assume the chairmanship and hosting responsibilities of UNESCO's World Heritage Committee in New Delhi from July 21 to 31, 2024.
This notable opportunity signifies the first instance of India leading the committee, showcasing international acknowledgment of the country's rich cultural and natural heritage.
The decision was formally approved during UNESCO's 19th extraordinary session in 2023, following India's proposal and discussions with the UNESCO Director-General.
