  • The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) successfully bid for the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup at the ICC Annual Conference in Birmingham and bagged the hosting rights of the flagship event.
  • India will host the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup after a long hiatus of 12 years. 
  • The last Women’s World Cup was held in India back in 2013 when Australia thrashed West Indies in the final in Mumbai.
  • Bangladesh is set to host the 2024 T20 World Cup while England will host the tournament’s 2026 edition. 
  • Sri Lanka won the hosting rights of the inaugural T20 Champions Trophy 2027.
  • Notably, India hosted its last big ICC event in 2016 which was the T20 World Cup.
