  • Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Dr. L Murugan said, India stands third in the world in terms of fish production. 
  • He has also said that the ministry has taken several steps to improve fish production, export and infrastructure development in the last eight years like The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.
  • India is the 3rd largest fish producing and 2nd largest aquaculture nation in the world after China.
