India and Oman have joined forces to study and conserve sharks and rays in the Arabian Sea, aiming to enhance understanding and promote conservation efforts in the region.
The collaborative initiative seeks to facilitate joint workshops and research activities where experts from both countries will share knowledge and work towards common goals.
With a focus on elasmobranch research, particularly in the Arabian Sea, the collaboration aims to address conservation challenges and build capacity in this field.
An upcoming workshop, hosted by the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) in India, will kickstart this joint effort, bringing together researchers from both countries.
