India has taken a major step in integrating artificial intelligence in higher education with the launch of its first AI-enabled university pilot at Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), Meerut. The initiative, led by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) in partnership with Google Cloud, will use the Gemini AI platform to provide personalized AI tutors for students, assist faculty in creating teaching material, and automate university administration. CCSU will serve as a national pilot and centre of excellence, with learnings intended for adoption across other Indian universities.
