India possesses the world’s third-largest rare earth reserves but remains a minor producer due to structural challenges in mining, according to a report by Amicus Growth. The country has around 6.9 million tonnes of rare earth oxide (REO) reserves, ranking behind China (44 million tonnes) and Brazil (21 million tonnes). Other nations with significant reserves include Australia (5.7 million tonnes), Russia (3.8 million tonnes), Vietnam (3.5 million tonnes), and the United States (1.9 million tonnes).
