  • India and Nepal sign seven agreements in various fields including trade and commerce, cross - border petroleum pipeline, development of Integrated Check Posts and hydroelectric project
  • One of these agreements is the revised Indo-Nepal Treaty of Transit
  • Through this, a provision has been made for the people of Nepal to use the inland waterway facility of India along with new rail routes. 
  •  Both countries have decided to increase physical connectivity by establishing new rail links.
  • Apart from this, it has also been agreed to provide training to Nepalese railway personnel in Indian Railway Institutes. 
  • Two more bridges will be built at Shirsha and Julaghat to boost connectivity to Nepal's far western region.
