  • Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla has been appointed as the chief coordinator of the G20 and will take over on April 30.
  • Shringla, who has been ambassador to the United States of America and high commissioner in Dhaka, will have an important role as the G20 summit is likely to be held in India in the autumn of 2023.
  • The G20 or Group of Twenty is an intergovernmental forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union.
