Haji Malang Dargah is located in Thane district of Maharashtra.
Recently this Dargah has been in the news because the Chief Minister of Maharashtra has claimed this Dargah to be a temple.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said that he will definitely liberate this temple.
Regarding this Dargah, the right-wing group claims that this Dargah is actually a temple which has been given the form of a Dargah.
The first controversy regarding this Dargah occurred in the 18th century when Muslims objected to the maintenance of the Dargah by a Brahmin.
Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe had claimed in 1980 that this is not a dargah but a temple.
Shiv Sena and right-wing groups address this dargah as 'Shri Malanggarh'.
Haji Malang Dargah is located near Malanggarh Fort on the hills of Matheran, 3000 feet above sea level in Maharashtra.
This shrine is of Haji Abd-ul-Rahman, the 12th-century Sufi saint of Yemen.
People living around this Dargah know this Dargah by the name of Haji Malang Baba.
