  • The Department of Financial Services has merged 26 Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) across 10 states and 1 Union Territory under the “One State, One RRB” policy, marking the fourth phase of RRB consolidation.
  • After this amalgamation, the total number of RRBs will reduce to 28, covering 700 districts with over 22,000 branches — 92% of which are in rural and semi-urban areas.
