  • The Government of India has appointed Vinodanand Jha, a retired IRS officer of the 1983 batch, as the Chairman of the Adjudicating Authority of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) based in the national capital. 
  • Jha has been serving as the Member (Finance and Accounts) in the Authority since September 2018.
  • His appointment to this post was made after retiring from the post of Principal Chief Commissioner, Income Tax from Pune. 
  • According to the order issued by the Union Finance Ministry on January 20, Vinodanand Jha will hold this post as the chairman till June 2022.
