The International Gita Mahotsav will be held in Colombo from March 1, hosted by Sri Lanka's Buddha Sasan, Minister for Religious and Cultural Affairs, Vidura Wickramanayake.
The event is aimed at popularising the timeless teachings of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita and will be held at the Neelam Pokuna theatre complex.
The three-day festival, sponsored by the Kurukshetra Development Board of Haryana, will include Gita Yajna, Japa, Shobha Yatra, seminars on contemporary topics, competitions and a copy of Srimad Bhagavada Gita will be presented to the Parliament of Sri Lanka on March 4.
