Manohar Joshi, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and senior Shiv Sena leader, passed away at the age of 86 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Joshi served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1995 to 1999 and as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 2002 to 2004. He was also a Member of the Rajya Sabha from 2006 to 2012 and served as the Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises from 1999 to 2002.
Joshi's political career began with his association with the RSS, later transitioning into the Shiv Sena. He was renowned for his organizational skills and served in various capacities, including as a municipal councilor in Mumbai, the Mayor of Mumbai, and as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
