  • Manohar Joshi, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and senior Shiv Sena leader, passed away at the age of 86 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
  • Joshi served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from 1995 to 1999 and as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 2002 to 2004. He was also a Member of the Rajya Sabha from 2006 to 2012 and served as the Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises from 1999 to 2002.
  • Joshi's political career began with his association with the RSS, later transitioning into the Shiv Sena. He was renowned for his organizational skills and served in various capacities, including as a municipal councilor in Mumbai, the Mayor of Mumbai, and as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
