Exercise 'Eastern Sky' is being conducted by the Indian Air Force from October 30 to November 5.
This exercise is being organized by the Eastern Air Command.
It is being organized in the challenging hilly areas of the eastern region.
Exercise Eastern Sky is a comprehensive exercise which showcases the capabilities and readiness of the Eastern Air Command.
Indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft 'Tejas' has been deployed for the first time in the eastern region of India.
The exercise includes offensive and defensive operations, aerial reconnaissance and quick response to various threats, all of which are being conducted both day and night.
These highlight the Indian Air Force's ability to operate in diverse situations.
There are currently 5 commands in the Indian Air Force.
The headquarters of its Eastern Command is located in Shillong, Meghalaya.
