Under the Chang'e-7 mission (2026), China will send a smart robotic "flyer detector" to the Moon's south pole to confirm the presence and distribution of water ice in permanently shadowed craters.
This mission will include an orbiter, a lander, a lunar rover, and a flying robotic detector, marking a significant step toward establishing a future lunar research station.
