Chandigarh University (CU) became the first private university to win the prestigious Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (MAKA) Trophy 2024, awarded by President Droupadi Murmu, for its exceptional performance in the Khelo India University Games 2024 and the 19th Asian Games.
The Sahitya Akademi announced 2025 awards for 24 languages, honoring Navtej Sarna (English) and Mamta Kalia (Hindi) among others.
