  • The Central Government has increased the material cost under the PM POSHAN Scheme by 9.5%, effective from 1st of next month, benefiting over 11 crore students in Balvatika and Classes 1 to 8 across government and government-aided schools.
  • The government will bear an additional ₹954 crore in 2025–26 due to this enhancement, along with covering 100% of the foodgrain cost and transportation (around ₹9,000 crore annually), supplying 26 lakh metric tonnes via FCI.
