  • Bhuvnesh Kumar took charge as the Chief Executive Officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which administers Aadhaar. 
  • Mr. Kumar, a 1995-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, is an Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, a post he will continue to hold after this appointment. 
  • Mr. Kumar succeeds Amit Agrawal, a 1993-batch IAS officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, who was also MEITY Additional Secretary prior to his June 2023 appointment.
