  • Along with the 'Nolen Gurer Sandesh' from Bengal, 6 other items were tagged with Geographical Indication (GI), 'Nolen Gurer Sandesh' is a winter delicacy made from fresh 'Chhena' (cottage cheese) and the precious seasonal 'Nolen Gur' (date jaggery), which holds a beloved place in Bengali households. 
  • The jaggery 'Sandesh' (a type of sweet) imparts a rich, caramel-like flavor and a warm golden color.
