BCCI has announced equal pay for all centrally contracted men and women Team India cricketers.
BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah has implemented "pay equity policy" for contracted Indian women cricketers.
The women cricketers now will be paid the same match fee as their male counterparts. Test (INR 15 lakhs), ODI (INR 6 lakhs), T20I (INR 3 lakhs).
The Indian women's team recently won the Asia Cup in Bangladesh, beating Sri Lanka in the final at Sylhet by 8 wickets.
They also won India's first-ever medal in cricket at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham earlier this year.
