  • BCCI has announced equal pay for all centrally contracted men and women Team India cricketers.
  • BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah has implemented "pay equity policy" for contracted Indian women cricketers.
  • The women cricketers now will be paid the same match fee as their male counterparts. Test (INR 15 lakhs), ODI (INR 6 lakhs), T20I (INR 3 lakhs).
  • The Indian women's team recently won the Asia Cup in Bangladesh, beating Sri Lanka in the final at Sylhet by 8 wickets. 
  • They also won India's first-ever medal in cricket at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham earlier this year.
