Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the Mukhya Mantrir Eti Koli Duti Paat Scheme at Doomdooma in Tinsukia, providing one-time financial assistance of ₹5,000 to over six lakh tea garden workers. Around ₹300 crore will be disbursed to workers across 836 tea gardens in 27 districts. The initiative also includes mobile crèches and toilet services, reinforcing the government’s focus on welfare, dignity, and inclusive development of tea tribes.
