The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) recently released the Asia-Pacific Human Development Report.
According to this report, India has become one of the high income countries.
But there is also a huge increase in inequality in income and wealth.
According to the report, between the year 2000 and 2022, per capita income in India has increased from $442 to $2389.
At the same time, between 2004 and 2019, poverty has reduced from 40% to 10%.
According to the report, women's share in work participation is only 23 percent.
The richest 10% of the country own more than half of the country's wealth.
Whereas 18.50 crore people are forced to live in poverty whose income is less than 2.15 dollars i.e. 180 rupees.
In the states where 45% of the country's population resides, 62% of their population is poor.
The United Nations Development Program was established in the year 1965.
