The current President of Argentina is Javier Meili.
Recently the President of Argentina has rejected BRICS membership.
Xavier Miley has said that the decision to join BRICS was taken by the previous government.
The BRICS organization had announced its expansion in August 2023.
BRICS had announced the inclusion of 6 additional members in the year 2023.
These members were Argentina, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and United Arab Emirates.
The tenure of these members was to start from January 1, 2024.
BRICS currently consists of 5 countries.
These countries are – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
