  • Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has facilitated the export of banana from India to Russia through the sea route.
  • M/s Gurukrupa Corporation Pvt. Ltd., an exporter of fruits and vegetables based in Mumbai. Ltd. regularly exports fresh fruits and vegetables to the European Union and Middle East. 
  • Dated 17 February 2024, a consignment of 20 MT (1540 boxes) of banana from Maharashtra was flagged off by Shri Abhishek Dev, Chairman, APEDA. This work was supported by the Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture. APEDA followed the Maritime Protocol, International Maritime Treaty planned by the Institute for this shipment to maintain the quality of fruits in transit.
  • Banana is the major import of bananas from India to Russia. Earlier, Russia imported bananas from Ecuador in Latin America.
