  • Aparesh Kumar Singh, a judge of the Jharkhand high court, has been appointed as the chief justice of the Tripura high court.
  • Singh has replaced acting chief justice of Tripura high court, T Amarnath Goud, who assumed office in last November.
  • Singh has earlier practiced at the Patna and Jharkhand high courts as an advocate since 1990. 
  • He was appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand on 24th January 2012 and confirmed as permanent Judge on 16th January 2014. 
  • He has also served as the Acting Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court from the 20th of December, 2022 to the 19th of February, 2023.
