  • Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, beneficiaries get five kg of wheat or rice.
  • The central government first started it on 30 June 2020.
  • After that it has been extended on several occasions.
  • Currently this scheme was to end in December 2023
  • Now after an extension of 5 years, people will continue to get the benefits of this scheme till December 2028.
