Veteran ISRO scientist A. Rajarajan will officially take over as Director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) on August 1, succeeding Dr. S. Unnikrishnan Nair, who is set to retire on July 31. Prior to this, Rajarajan was serving as the Director of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota (SDSC-SHAR). With nearly 40 years of experience in ISRO, Rajarajan has held several senior leadership positions at VSSC, particularly contributing to the design and development of launch vehicle systems and composite spacecraft structures since joining the organisation in 1987.
