A P Abdullahkutty has been elected as the chairperson of the Haj Committee of India.
Apart from this, Munawwari Begum and Mehfooza Khatoon have also been elected as vice-presidents.
According to the officials of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, for the first time in independent India, two women have become the vice-chairman of the Haj Committee of India.
