  • The prestigious 37th Hyderabad Sailing Week and Laser National Championship has taken off under the aegis of EME Sailing Association (EMESA), Laser Class Association of India, and Secunderabad Sailing Club at Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad.
  • Lieutenant General JS Sidana, Commandant MCEME, Commodore EME Sailing Association, and Vice President Laser Class Association of India formally flagged off the event.
  • The annual National Regatta, Hyderabad Sailing Week, is conducted every year at the Hussain Sagar Lake and the National Laser Championship serves as a trial event for the Asian Games. Organisers informed that 89 individuals, representing 11 clubs. 
  • These include 11 women and 17 from Telangana. Murali Kanuri (72) is the oldest participant this year.  
  • The week-long event will conclude on the 9th of this month.
