  • The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention will be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 8 to 10 January 2025. The theme of this year's convention is Diaspora's Contribution to a Viksit Bharat'. 
  • The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award (PBSA) is the highest honour given to overseas Indians.
  • Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated by the Government of India on 9th January every second year.
  • It was on this day that Mahatma Gandhi returned home from South Africa. The celebration of this day started in 2003.
