The 12th edition of the biennial Defence Expo began in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar of Gujarat.
It is the largest defence exhibition of Asia.
Seventy-five countries are taking part in DefExpo 2022.
The theme of Defexpo 2022 is 'Path to Pride' in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to transform India into a strong and self-reliant nation.
The Defence Minister termed DefExpo 2022, exclusively for Indian companies, as a humble tribute of an 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' to Mahatma Gandhi who he called the "pillar of the Swadeshi movement".
The objective is to cater to domestic defence requirements as well as fulfilling the needs of friendly foreign countries.
