UPTET, or Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test Examination, is a state-level test held once a year. The Uttar Pradesh Exam Regulatory Authority administers this exam. The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a recruiting test for teachers in Uttar Pradesh's primary (I-V) and upper primary (VI-VIII) schools. The UPTET is an offline competitive examination for UPTET Papers I and II. Important topics from Paper-I (Classes I to V) and Paper-II (Class VI to VIII) are covered in the UPTET syllabus. The UPTET Paper-I syllabus includes Child Development and Pedagogy,  Mathematics, and Environmental Studies, Language-I (Hindi), and Language-II (English/Sanskrit/Urdu). And the UPTET Paper-II syllabus includes Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I (Hindi), Language-II (English/Sanskrit/Urdu), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies/Social Sciences.     Eligibility Criteria

    Minimum qualification required in Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) for Classes I-V: Primary Stage

    Passed the graduation examination from a university or college established by law and recognised by UGC, and after being recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), appearing or appearing in the final year of a two-year D.El.Ed (B.T.C.) programme from an institution affiliated with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. OR

    Untrained/Graduated Shikshamitras appearing in the final year of B.TAC or appearing in the final year of the distance education method and passed the graduation examination from a university or college established by law and recognized by UGC. OR

    Passed Graduation from a University or College recognized by UGC and established by law and Two years Diploma in Education (D.Ed.) from an institution recognized by NCTE/ Recognition by RCI Enrolled or passed from a recognized institution with a final year of two-year Diploma in Education (D.Ed. Special Education). OR

    Graduation or post-graduation with a minimum of 50% marks from a legally recognised university or college recognised by the UGC and NCTE. Enrolled or graduated from a recognised institution with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree. OR

    Graduate or Masters degree with at least 45 percent marks from a university or college established by law and recognised by UGC, and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) as issued by the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition, Norms, and Actions) from time to time. The law was obtained in accordance with the regulations. OR

    Graduates of a lawfully established and UGC recognized university or college who are appearing or will be appearing in the final year of a two-year B.T.C. Urdu special training conducted in the UP state. OR

    Graduate from a legally established and UGC-recognized university or college and appearing or appearing in the final year of specialised BTAC training recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education operating in Uttar Pradesh. OR

    Graduated from a university or college established by law and recognised by the UGC, and appearing or appearing in the final year of the Aligarh Muslim University Diploma in Teaching. OR

    Graduated from a university/college established by law and recognised by the UGC, and hold a Moallim-e-Urdu degree (for Urdu teachers) from Aligarh Muslim University prior to 11.08.1997. OR

    Intermediate or its equivalent with at least of 50% marks and appearing or appearing in the final year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education programme (B.L.Ed).

     

    Minimum qualification required in Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) for Class VI to VIII: Upper Primary Stage

    A graduate examination from a university or college established by law and recognised by UGC, as well as recognition from the NCTE after appearing in the final year of a two-year D.El.Ed (B.T.C.) from an institution affiliated with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. OR

    Graduation or Post-Graduation with at least of 50% marks from a legally established University/College recognised by the UGC and NCTE. Enrolled or graduated from a recognised institution's final year of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). OR

    Graduate or Masters's degree with at least 45 percent marks from a university/college established by law and recognised by UGC, and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) as issued by the NCTE (Recognition, Norms, and Actions) from time to time.     Intermediate or its equivalent with at least 50% grades and attending or appearing in the last year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.L.Ed). OR

    Graduation with at least 50 percent grades from a University or College established by law and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and appearing or appearing in one year B.Ed (Special Education) recognised by the RCI.

     

    Validity Period of UPTET Certificate

    (I) For all categories, the UPTET qualifying certificate for appointment shall be valid for a lifetime from the date of its declaration.

    (ii) Candidates who have cleared the UP Teacher Eligibility Test will be issued an eligibility certificate by the District Education and Training Institute in their particular district.

     

    Exam Pattern

    Scheme of Examinations:

    There will be two UPTET papers.

    (ii) Paper-I is for someone who wants to be a teacher in classes I to V.

    (ii) Paper-II is for anyone who wants to be a teacher in classes VI to VIII.

    Note: A person who wishes to teach at both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII must take both exams (UPTET Paper I and Paper II).

    How to Apply

    Applications must be filed online mode. For step-by-step instructions on completing the online application form are given below.

    Go to the official website: http://updeled.gov.in/.

    Select 'UPTET Exam' - Select the 'UPTET Registration' button

    Select the 'Candidate Registration' option.

    Carefully read all instructions before selecting the declaration checkbox at the bottom of the page.

    Select the 'Apply Here' button.

    Fill in all of the information requested on the registration form, as shown in the table below. 

    Click on the declaration check box at the bottom of the page.

    Verify all information entered into the online form and click the 'Proceed' button.

    Make a note of the registration number generated by the system.

    For verification, candidates must enter their registration number and the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to their mobile phone/email address. It should be reminded that only candidates who successfully validate their registration information will be able to complete the remaining areas of the application form.

    Candidates can now fill out the application form when their registration information has been validated. Once completed, candidates should click the 'Submit' button. It should be noted that once the application form has been submitted, candidates will not be able to make any changes to it.

    Candidates must first log in to their registered account using their registration number and date of birth in order to pay the application cost. After logging in, candidates can pay the UPTET application fee using the payment choice mode.

    As the final step, candidates must upload scanned images of their most recent photograph and signature in accordance with the standards specified in the announcement.

    Once the photographs have been uploaded, candidates must print a copy of the confirmation page and retain it for future reference.
