Summary

The SSC CPO SI Recruitment 2025 is a national-level examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for the selection of Sub-Inspectors (SI) in the Delhi Police and various Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) like the CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, and SSB.

The recruitment process is structured in four rigorous stages to test a candidate's academic knowledge, physical fitness, and medical standards. The selection begins with Paper-I, a Computer-Based Test (CBT) covering General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Successful candidates proceed to the Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Endurance Test (PET), which is a qualifying stage to check physical measurements and fitness. This is followed by Paper-II, another CBT focusing solely on English Language and Comprehension. The final stage is the Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

    Exam Pattern

    Scheme of Examinations:

    The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

    • Computer Based Examination (Paper-I)

    • Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET),

    • Paper-II and Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

    Stage 2: Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Endurance Test (PET):

    Candidates qualifying in Paper-I are called for PST/PET. This stage is qualifying in nature.

    Stage 4: Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

    Candidates qualifying in both Paper-I and Paper-II are called for DME.

    Overview

    For the 2025 cycle, the official notification announced a total of 3073 vacancies for the CPO Sub-Inspector posts. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university and be between 20 and 25 years of age (with age relaxation for reserved categories). The application process is conducted entirely online through the official SSC website, with a non-refundable application fee (exempted for women, SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen). Paper-I is tentatively scheduled to be held in November-December 2025.

    Eligibility Criteria

    The eligibility criteria are primarily based on Nationality, Age Limit, and Educational Qualification.

    A. Nationality/Citizenship

    A candidate must be either:

    A citizen of India, or A subject of Nepal, or A subject of Bhutan.

    B. Age Limit (as of a specified cutoff date, typically August 1, 2025)

    Minimum Age: 20 years

    Maximum Age: 25 years

    Age Relaxation is provided as per government rules for reserved categories:

    SC/ST: 5 years 

    OBC: 3 years

    Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service 

    C. Educational Qualification:

    A candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.

    Special Requirement for SI in Delhi Police (Male Candidates only): Must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) on the date of Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). Candidates without a valid LMV license are only eligible for CAPF posts.

    Syllabus (Paper-I):

    → General Intelligence & Reasoning:  It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/ Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/ Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/ pattern- folding & un-folding, Figural Pattern- folding and completion, Indexing, Address matching, Date & city matching, Classification of centre codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/ numbers coding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence, Other sub-topics, if any. 

     

    → General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates‟ general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.

     

    → Quantitative Aptitude: The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.

     

    → English Comprehension: Candidates ability to understand correct English, his/ her basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested.

     

    Syllabus (Paper-II):

    → English Language and Comprehension: Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on error recognition, filling in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, comprehension etc.

     

    Mode of Selection:

    Minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I and Paper-II are as follows:

    • UR : 30%

    • OBC/ EWS : 25%

    • All Others Categories: 20%

    * On the basis of their performance in Paper-I + Paper-II, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in Medical Examination. Candidates, who are successful in Medical Examination, will be called for detailed Document Verification.*

    * All shortlisted candidates are required to come for Document Verification. Those failing to do so will not be considered for final selection. Candidates are required to submit all documents in original for verification at the time of Document Verification.*

     

    Resolution of Tie Cases:

    In cases where more than one candidate secures the equal aggregates marks, in Paper-I + Paper-II, the tie will be resolved by applying the following methods one after another:

    • Total marks in Paper-II.

    • Date of birth, with older candidates, placed higher. 

    • Alphabetical order of the names of the candidates.

     

    Application Fee

    Application Fee - SSC CPO SI 2025:

    Fee is payable: Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only).

    All Category Female : 0/- (Exempted)

    Correction Charge : 200/- First Time

    Correction Charge : 500/- (Second Time)

    Mode of Payment:

    Pay the Examination Fee Through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking.

    Fee can be paid only through online payment modes, namely BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Credit or Debit card.

    How to Apply

    Candidates must apply online through the official SSC website.

    1. One-Time Registration (OTR): Candidates who have not registered on the new SSC website (ssc.gov.in) must first complete the One-Time Registration process by providing basic details, contact information, and uploading scanned images of a recent photograph and signature as per specifications.

    2. Log In and Apply: Log in using your Registration Number and Password. Navigate to the "Apply" section and click on the link for "Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs Examination 2025."

    3. Fill Application Form: Fill in the detailed application form, including preferences for exam centers.

    4. Upload Documents: Upload a live photograph and a scanned signature as required.

    5. Fee Payment: Pay the requisite application fee (₹100 for General/OBC male candidates; Women, SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted) through online modes (BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Debit/Credit Cards).

    6. Submit and Print: Review the application form carefully and submit it. Download and print a copy of the final application form for your records.
