JNVST is an entrance test for candidates who are seeking admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. JNVST is conducted zone-wise or region-wise.

All Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas across the country will participate in a single phase. The NVS class 6 admission 2026-2027 notification is released. Selection of applicants will be made on the basis of their marks obtained in the written entrance exam in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST).

Admissions in JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA are made through the JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SELECTION TEST (JNVST) at Class VI.  JNVST exams are conducted by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. JNVST 2026-27 will be conducted for admission in Class VI in 653 Jawahar Navodaya Schools in India. 

For entrance exam JNVST 2026-2027 to get admission in Class-VI:

A candidate appearing for the selection test must be studying in Class-V in a Government/Government aided or any other recognized schools or should have completed ‘B’ certificate competency course of National Institute of Open Schooling in the same district where he/she is seeking admission. Candidate must be a Resident of the District where the Navodaya School is Open. For Admission in class 6th Passed the class 5th exam.

Age limit:

A candidate seeking admission must not have been born before 01-05-2014 and after 31-07-2016 (Both dates are inclusive). 

The provisionally selected candidate has to produce a copy of the birth certificate issued by Government authority concerned at the time of admission.

Educational:

1. A candidate appearing for the selection test must be studying in Class V for the entire academic session 2025–26 in a Government/Government-aided/recognized school, or must be enrolled in the ‘B’ Certificate competency course of the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in the same district where admission is being sought.

2. The schools from which students have obtained the ‘B’ Certificate from NIOS must be accredited by NIOS. The candidate must successfully complete Class V during the session 2025–26. Actual admission to Class VI for the session 2026–27 will be subject to these conditions.

3. A candidate seeking admission to Class VI must have studied and passed Classes III, IV, and V from a Government / Government-aided / recognized school, completing one full academic session in each class.

4. No candidate is eligible to appear for the selection test a second time under any circumstances. The information filled by the candidate in the application form will be verified, and if the candidate is found to be a repeater, he/she will not be permitted to appear for the selection test.
