  • World Tuna Day is observed every year on 2 May to spread awareness among people about Tuna fish.
  • Tuna fish is globally popular for its healthy and tasty meat.
  • The first Tuna Day was recognised globally on 2 May 2017.
  •  In the past few years, over 96 countries in the world have stepped forward to stop overfishing and safeguard the stocks which carry a value of almost $10 billion.
  • The fish is rich in Omega 3, Vitamin B12, proteins, and other minerals.
  • The theme for this year (2022) is Our Tunna, Our heritage.
