World Toilet Day 2024: Central Government Launches 'Our Toilet Our Respect' Nationwide Campaign

  • The Ministry of Jal Shakti of India on Tuesday launched a 3-week nationwide campaign called 'Hamara Toilet Hamara Samman' (HSHS) on World Toilet Day 2024, which will culminate on Human Rights Day till 10th December 2024, and aims to highlight the connection between sanitation, human rights and dignity of the individual.
  • The campaign focuses on sustaining the status of an Open Defecation Free (ODF) India and promoting behavioural change with regard to sanitation.
  • The theme of World Toilet Day 2024, “Toilets – A Place for Peace”, highlights cleanliness and sustainable solutions.
