बैटरी से चलने वाले दोहरे मोड वाले लोकोमोटिव इंजन 'नवदूत' का शुभारम्भ किया गया

पश्चिम मध्य रेलवे (डब्ल्यूसीआर) ने बैटरी से चलने वाले दोहरे मोड वाले लोकोमोटिव इंजन 'नवदूत' को विकसित किया है।
यह ट्रायल के आधार पर जबलपुर, मुदवाड़ा और अन्य स्टेशनों के बीच चल रहा है।
'नवदूत' इंजन दोनों मोड यानी बैटरी और बिजली पर चलता है।
इसमें 84 बैटरियां हैं और वर्तमान में इसकी क्षमता 400 टन खींचने की है।
इसे न्यू कटनी जंक्शन के विद्युत विभाग द्वारा विकसित किया गया है।
इस दोहरे मोड वाले लोकोमोटिव को रेलवे बोर्ड से 'सर्वश्रेष्ठ नवाचार पुरस्कार' भी दिया गया है।
