  • उत्तराखंड को हाल ही में केंद्रीय पर्यटन मंत्रालय से दो श्रेणियों - सर्वश्रेष्ठ साहसिक पर्यटन स्थल और पर्यटन के सर्वांगीण विकास में प्रथम पुरस्कार मिला है।
  • राज्य के पर्यटन और संस्कृति मंत्री सतपाल महाराज ने नई दिल्ली में राष्ट्रीय पर्यटन पुरस्कार 2018-19 की प्रस्तुति के दौरान उपराष्ट्रपति जगदीप धनखड़ से पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया है।
  • हर साल 27 सितंबर को विश्व पर्यटन दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने 1980 से इस दिन को विश्व पर्यटन दिवस के रूप में मनाया है। यह दिन 1970 में संगठन की विधियों को अपनाने की 10 साल की सालगिरह का प्रतीक है, जो पांच साल बाद यूएनडब्ल्यूटीओ की स्थापना का मार्ग प्रशस्त करता है।
