Tamil Nadu government increases reservation for women in government jobs from 30% to 40%

·         Tamil Nadu government announced to increase the quota for women in government jobs to 40% from the earlier 30%

·         Making the announcement in the state assembly, Finance and Human Resource Management Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan said it is imperative to increase the quota for women in government jobs to bring about gender equality.

·         The Finance Minister also announced that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Tamil Nadu government will increase the age limit for the state recruitment examinations by two additional years.
