Tamil Nadu government announces free breakfast scheme

  • Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin announced a free breakfast scheme for government primary school students.
  • The scheme, in the first phase, would be implemented in a few corporations, municipalities and remote villages. 
  • It would be extended across the state in a phased manner.
  • Tamil Nadu is set to become the first state to offer breakfast along with midday meals.
