Ms. T.C.A. Kalyani, a 1991-batch officer of the Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS), has assumed charge as the 29th Controller General of Accounts (CGA) in the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. With over 34 years of distinguished government service, Ms. Kalyani has served in several key ministries including Defence, Telecom, Fertilizers, Finance, Social Justice & Empowerment, Information & Broadcasting, and Home Affairs. She played a pivotal role in implementing the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme for fertilizer subsidies, a reform that boosted digitization and financial inclusion. Her tenure also included contributions to the digital transformation at MTNL and the revival of Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited.
