Steel Industry Veteran Jatinder Mehra Passes Away

  • Jatinder Mehra, a veteran of India’s steel sector with over six decades of experience, passed away, marking the end of a distinguished industrial career. As Vice Chairman of the Metals and Mining Division at the Essar Group, he played a key role in expanding steel capacity at Hazira and guiding major projects like the Paradip facility.
  • Earlier, he served as Executive Director at Steel Authority of India Limited and later as CMD of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indian Steel Association in 2022.
