  • Fatima Beevi was the first woman judge of the Supreme Court of the country.
  • He passed away recently.
  • She had also been the former Governor of Tamil Nadu.
  • Fathima Beevi was born in April 1927 in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala.
  • In 1983, she was appointed judge of the Kerala High Court.
  • In 1989, she became the first woman judge of the Supreme Court.
  • She was a judge till 1992.
  • After retiring from the post of judge, she worked as a member of the National Human Rights Commission.
  • She became the Governor of Tamil Nadu in 1997.
