  • These submarines have been launched by the Russian Navy in December 2023.
  • Russian President Vladimir Putin unveiled these new nuclear powered submarines.
  • Putin inaugurated the ships at the Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk in the country's northwest Arkhangelsk region.
  • Emperor Alexander III is the seventh Borei-class nuclear-powered submarine to enter service.
  • It is equipped with 16 intercontinental ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads.
  • Krasnoyarsk is a new Yasen-type nuclear-powered submarine.
  • It is armed with cruise missiles and torpedoes and is designed to hunt enemy submarines.
  • It is also capable of attacking ground targets.
  • Russia is building 5 more such submarines.
