Recently 'Mitra Shakti' joint military exercise is being organized in Pune.

Mitra Shakti joint military exercise is conducted between India and Sri Lanka.
In the year 2023, it is being organized in Pune Military Cantonment.
This exercise will continue till November 29.
This is the 9th edition of Mitra Shakti joint military exercise.
The Indian contingent is being represented primarily by 120 soldiers of the Maratha Light Infantry Regiment.
The Sri Lankan side is being represented by soldiers of 53 Infantry Division.
The objective of the exercise is to jointly rehearse sub-conventional operations under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter.
The scope of the exercise includes coordination of joint responses during counter-terrorism operations.
Both sides will practice tactical operations like raids, search and destroy missions, heliborne operations etc.
