  • फिरोजाबाद उत्तर प्रदेश में स्थित एक जिला है।
  • इसकी सीमा एटा, इटावा और मैनपुरी जिलों से लगती है।
  • हाल ही में फिरोजाबाद का नाम बदलकर 'चंद्रनगर’ करने के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दे दी गई है।
  • यह मंजूरी नगर निगम द्वारा प्रदान की गई।
  • अब इस प्रस्ताव को राज्य सरकार के पास भेजा गया है।
  • वर्ष 1566 ई. में फिरोजाबाद में राजा चंद्रसेन की रियासत थी।
  • इस स्थान को उन्हीं के नाम पर को चंद्रनगर कहा जाता है। 
  • मुगल शासन से पहले फिरोजाबाद में राजा चंद्रसेन की रियासत थी।
  • अकबर के समय यहां पर लुटेरों के आतंक को समाप्त करने के लिए फिरोजशाह को भेजा गया।
  • कालांतर में फिरोजशाह के नाम पर ही इस जिले का नाम फिरोजाबाद हो गया।
