Veteran archaeologist Dr. Ravi Korisettar from Dharwad has been awarded the Rajyotsava Award 2025 for his remarkable contributions to Indian archaeology. A UGC Emeritus Fellow at Karnataka University, Dharwad, he has over 40 years of teaching and research experience. His pioneering work includes paleoclimate studies, computer-based archaeology and research on the Middle Krishna Basin. Published in top journals like Science and PNAS, he also established prehistoric museums in Ballari and Dharwad. His efforts have greatly advanced understanding of South Asia’s prehistoric heritage and human evolution.
