Indian NGO Educate Girls has made history by becoming the first Indian organization to win the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award 2025. The honor, often called Asia’s Nobel Prize, was conferred on the NGO for its groundbreaking work in ensuring access to education for underprivileged girls in India’s rural and remote regions. Recognized for creating lasting change by tackling gender inequality in education, Educate Girls now stands alongside fellow awardees Shaahina Ali of the Maldives and Flaviano Antonio L. Villanueva of the Philippines.
