New Zealand's Trent Boult Announces Retirement from International Cricket

  • New Zealand's left-arm fast bowler Trent Boult announced his retirement from international cricket following New Zealand's final Group C match against Papua New Guinea at the 2024 T20 ICC Cricket World Cup, held at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba.
  • Trent Boult had an illustrious 13-year international career, making his debut in 2011 and representing New Zealand in all formats of the game. 
  • He played in all three format finals: the 2021 ICC World Test Championship final, the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup final, and the 2021 T20 World Cup final.
  • In his final match, New Zealand, already eliminated from the tournament, dismissed Papua New Guinea for 78 runs. Boult took two wickets for 14 runs, and his teammate Lockie Ferguson achieved a remarkable feat of taking three wickets without conceding a single run in his four allotted overs.
